Integration with Yahoo Local Search

Stickymap currently makes use of the Yahoo Local Search API, but we can do better. Right now, Yahoo Local is one of the three search options, and it’s a feature that’s very detached from the rest of the site. Markers are rarely created from Yahoo’s database.

We’re hoping to change this with the next release. Stickymap search results are going to be merged with the Yahoo results, to create a universal and customizable search. Yahoo results and Stickymap results should be able to mix as seamlessly as possible.

? … Conversly(?), will a StickyMap marker show up in a Yahoo search?
Would that be your hope & dream come ture?!
    Isn’t StickyMap mostly a mash-up of Google-maps?

While we use Google Maps to display our markers, and as an interface to interact with these markers, we could put our data on any map with an API. For example, Yahoo Maps has an API, so we could write a page that displays our data on it.

We use Google for the underlying map, and we use Yahoo for the Local Search (aka “Yellow Page”) data. I haven’t considered Stickymap results being placed in a Yahoo search. Obviously if Yahoo is interested it could be a great thing.

It seem that your “Yahoo” portion of search is disabled, while the “Google” portion works as it should.
A search in Stickmap give no list of results, nor points on the map. However the map location location seem to be right-on target after using the zoom.
